M36 Model German Paratrooper Helmet : Is based on a very rare M36 model shell, but has been modified using M38 liner and of course early pattern spanner bolts. What makes this helmet even more impressive is that it is very aged and severely worn internally. Notice that the helmet is painted original apple green, and there is lots of heavy rusting coming through from the shell. The rust is dark in colour not orange as in so many reproductions! The inner lining is very worn and aged reflecting being left on the battlefield for many years. The lining rubber is black/grey to reflect a typical M38 lining .Notice the rusting to the whole helmet rim and remaining strap buckles. Even the zinc eyelets are still present on the spanner bolts! A Superb German Paratrooper helmet! There are also faint size and batch markings as appropriate! The stitching is genuine german helmet thread worn appropriately and it is only a few stitches keeping the remaining liner in place. This helmet would make a superb item in your early Luftwaffe Paratrooper collection - you are very unlikely to own a genuine one unless you have £20,000+ to spare and find one of the very few in existence!
