M36 Model
German Paratrooper Helmet : Is based on a very rare
M36 model shell, but has been modified using M38 liner and
of course early pattern spanner bolts. What makes this helmet
even more impressive is that it has the early Army (Heer),
Eagle and National Colour's decals. This helmet has survived
from the founding of the German Paratroopers. And is probably
one of the best reproductions available!
Notice that the helmet is painted original apple
green, and there is lots of light rusting coming through from
the shell yet the decals have been protected by the camouflage
helmet cover which has also been appropriately aged, inside
and out! There is also small traces of sand in the paintwork
but most has been rubbed smooth with wear!
The inner lining is very well maintained yet aged, again
to reflect the period of use and 60+ years of ageing. The
lining rubber is black/grey to reflect a typical M38 lining.
There are two faded stamps in the liner leather. There is
also a helmet acceptance stamp inside the dome of the shell.
Notice the rusting to the whole helmet rim and strap buckles.
A Superb German Paratrooper helmet! There are also faint size
and batch markings as appropriate!
Also notice how the decals have the very faint light brown
line around the decals - this is an indication of original
helmets and shows the lacquer used to adhere the decals -
no other reproduction helmet that I know of has this feature!
This helmet would make a superb item in your early Luftwaffe
Paratrooper collection - you are very unlikely to own a genuine
one unless you have £20,000 to spare and find one of
the very few in existence!
