M35 Double Decal Heer Helmet: This is a first class reproduction Heer Helmet. It has had several repaints over the years and much field use. It is an Army (Heer), double decal M35 with makers marked chinstrap and owners rank and name. The helmet has originally been painted apple green, then repainted in field slate grey and then repainted in tan. This helmet could have been used in Russia or Italian campaigns. It has both the national colours and Heer decals intact and partially exposed. The chinstrap is 'Larsen' marked '1938' and the shell has both batch and manufacturing numbers - 'ET66' and '974'. There is an acceptance stamp in the crown and the owner has added his rank and name 'Gefr. Freyberg'. There is extensive rust around the rim and on the outer crown. The liner is an early war double reinforced aluminium type with square bales. Heer DD helmets are now getting very scarce, so grab a bargain with this great Russian/Italian helmet or use it as a filler to you can afford a genuine one!
