German Airborne
Helmet Africa Korp: This German Airborne helmet is
an early war model M37 German Airborne paratrooper helmet.
It has early pattern helmet bolts and chinstrap's. This paratrooper
helmet represents one used in Africa 1942.
It has its original luftwaffe field grey colour
which has been overpainted by hand in desert yellow. The German
Airborne Heer (Army) eagle decal is 100% visible and 99% intact.
The National colours decal is 100% visible and 99% intact.
The owner has his name painted inside the helmet rim 'U. Freyberg
I/III'. This army eagle being present so late in the war makes
the helmet very unusual.
The helmet has a dome acceptance stamp inside
the crown of the helmet shell, dated 1938.
This is your typical early to mid-war M37 German
Airborne helmet in colour, ageing and markings. It has been
aged to look as if it has come off the battlefield and represents
a great Africa Korp German Airborne helmet. Notice the M37
slots at the side and the holes at the side and rear for an
earlier version of the inner liner.
This item comes in a suitable aged box and a
'send home' label! A great present for the military collector!
