M37 Model
German Fallschirmjäger Helmet Battle Damaged Norway:
This Fallschirmjäger German helmet is an early
war model M37 paratrooper (Fallschirmjäger), helmet.
It has early pattern helmet bolts and no chinstrap's. This
Fallschirmjäger helmet represents one used in winter
1940 in Norway. Fallschirmjäger were used in Norway during
the attacks on Sola and Fornebu Airfields. This helmet has
entry and exit wounds from a Norwegian rifle.
It has its original luftwaffe field grey colour.
The Fallschirmjäger eagle decal is the second model luftwaffe
eagle and is 100% visible and 95% intact. The National colours
decal is 100% visible and 99% intact. The owner has his name
painted inside the helmet rim which is illegible but seems
to start with a 'Ma'.
The helmet has rusting in the dome and shell
size stamped in the inner rim (ET71) and the batch number
(1551). The aluminium liner is also stamped '71' and what
remains of the leather liner is attached with a few threads
but is also manufacturer marked. This helmet represents a
Fallschirmjäger helmet damaged in battle and left to
rust for several years before being retrieved.
This is your typical early war battle damaged
M37 German Fallschirmjäger helmet in colour, ageing and
markings. It has been aged to look as if it has come off the
battlefield after lying for several years, with heavy rust
in places, heavy wear and much internal damage.
This item comes in a suitable aged box and a
'send home' label! A great present for the military collector!
