M37 Model
with M38 liner Fallschirmjägerhelm (Paratroopers Helmet)
Heer: This is a first class reproduction
of a Heer (Army), Fallschirmjager Helmet. It is based
on a very rare M37 model shell, with early pattern helmet
bolts. It has been modified using M38 liner which was common
practice in mid-late war when earlier produced models were
pressed into service. Notice the slots at the side of the
helmet and the extra holes for retaining the original liner
at the sides and rear. Also notice that the spanner bolts
are Luftwaffe grey in colour, further identifying the liner
as a replacement!
This helmet is based on one used intially by
the 1st Parachute Kompanie and then the 1st Parachute Battalion,
prior to their amalgamation into the Luftwaffe.
The decals are 100% intact and both are very
dark and aged due to their storage conditions post war. The
helmet is remarkably well preserved with only minor bubble
rusting to the shell. If you want to expand this rusting them
just leave it outside in the wet for 6 months+!
The liner and chinstraps have the look and
feel of a 60+ year old field helmet, dry and brittle to touch.
Notice the detail, painted chinstrap popper, M37 slots and
holes on dome sides, Luftwaffe painted spanner bolts, quick
release showing light rusting etc. This is a brilliant replica.
This helmet would make a superb item in you
paratrooper collection. It would also make a great filler
till you get a genuine M37Heer helmet which is highly unlikely
as very few M37's survived the war!
This item comes in a suitable aged box and a
'send home' label! A great present for the military collector!
