M37 Model with M38 liner Fallschirmjägerhelm (Paratroopers Helmet) Africa Korps: This is a first class reproduction of a Luftwaffe (Air Force), Fallschirmjager Helmet. It is based on a very rare M37 model shell, with early pattern helmet bolts. It has been modified using M38 liner which was common practice in mid-late war when earlier produced models were pressed into service. Notice the slots at the side of the helmet and the extra holes for retaining the original liner at the sides and rear. This helmet is based on one used intially in Europe (Field Grey), then Russia (overpainted white) and finally in Tunisia (Yellow hand paint and sand textured). The decals are 99% intact and the eagle is 100% visible while the national colours are 75% visible. Notice where the eagle has been painted round, while the colours have been overpainted by the Africa Korp yellow paint. The owner has has name painted inside the helmet rim - 'Maj. Hans' . Notice the goggles which also come with this helmet, they are WW2 design and have also been suitable aged. Look at where the sun has faded the various cloth parts of the goggles! Check out the ageing to this helmet, it is superb, the liner has the look and feel of a 60+ year old field used helmet as has the shell and chinstraps. This helmet would make a superb item in you paratrooper collection. It would also make a great filler till you get a genuine M37 Africa Korps helmet which is highly unlikely as very few M37's survived the war! This item comes in a suitable aged box and a 'send home' label! A great present for the military collector!
