M40 German
Army (Heer) Russian Camouflage & Wire Basket: This
is a first class GENUINE M40 helmet painted in original field
grey. It has had decals added post war and has been repainted
in Russian Green. This is most likely because the field grey
was becoming worn and the army unit had captured Russian paint
stocks.
The owner has added a camouflage 'basket' made
from various fencing wire, this represents usage in the Normandy
campaign of 1944. One leg of the basket has snapped. Both
Heer decals are present (National colours and Army Eagle),
although overpainted.
This item comes in a suitable aged box and a
'send home' label! A great present for the military collector!
