German M42 Waffen SS Medical Helmet : This is a genuine German WW2 helmet painted originally in field grey and repainted with winter camouflage and marked with Medical cross. It is marked with the Waffen SS runes decal and has several markings in various places. The helmet has two markings: 'hkp62' and '3284' at the rear edge, which are the manufacturer, size(62) and batch/production numbers. There is an army acceptance stamp dated 1942 inside the helmet shell. Interestingly the acceptance stamp says 'der Luftwaffe'! There is no liner or chin strap, however the liner band is still there and is marked 'B&O UTZMANNSTADT 1943' & 'S2 A/55'. The rivets are marked D&C 1941 and these are post war reproduction. The helmet has the name 'SS Muller Johann' painted in the rear rim. The helmet is 100% genuine German and the decal, rivets and paint work are post war! A great item for the Waffen SS, Medic or German military helmet collector.
