German M35 Waffen SS (Schutzstaffeln) Arnhem Helmet : This is a genuine German WW2 helmet painted originally in satin black with post war decals and name. It has the early pattern 'SS' runes on the right hand side and the national swastika on the left hand side, both showing appropriate wear and ageing. This combination of decals was discontinued later in the war. The helmet has a post war green and tan camouflage paint pattern applied as well as a chicken wire basket. This helmet (original), recreates those used by the Waffen SS at Arnhem in 1944. The helmet has two markings: '8478' at the rear edge, faint - which is the batch or production number and 'Q62' at the left side, very faint, which is the manufacturer number and helmet size (62). This is a reasonably rare size of helmet. There is a name painted inside the rear rim 'SS Pl. B. Deutschmann'. Further information can be found on this type of helmet here. www.german-helmets.com. There is no liner or chinstrap and the decals have a protective lacquer, as the original decals would have had. I repeat the helmet is 100% genuine and the decals and paint work are post war! A great item for the Waffen SS, Arnhem, or German Helmet collector!
