German Civil
Service Faithful Service Decoration 1st Class 40 Years: A
nice used example of the 40 year Faithful Service Decoration,
almost mint but used example. Look at the swastika with an
eyeglass, the enameling is superb as is the finish quality
and detail. Original ribbon and ribbon pin. Marked 'Fur Treue
Dienste' (For Loyal Services) on the reverse.
This award was instituted on 30 Jan 1938 for
faithful service in the German (Deutsche), Civil Service and
was designed by Professor Richard Klein. It had two classes:
1st class for 40 years public service and 2nd class for 25
years public service. There was also a special award for 50
years service in the same private company. It is currently
unknown how many of these awards were issued.
If you collect Nazi or Civil awards this is
a very good award to add to your collection and a great starter
piece (the forgers don't fake these yet - but they will!)
