German Helmet M35 Normandy: A quite unusual German M35 model helmet. This was found in one of the streams leading to Omaha Beach. It is fully covered in very thick sand mixture and this is covered in beach stones and small shells. The helmet is still solid and not at all fragile (except for the lining). I think the sand has actually helped to preserve the helmet!

This helmet reminds me that from the earth war materials came and to the earth they ultimately return! It looks great in a collection and a great conversation piece!
